The UBC Extension, is a proposed rapid transit extension that would continue the Millennium Line west from the future Arbutus Station to the University of British Columbia campus in Vancouver. It is intended to improve capacity on the busy Broadway–UBC transit corridor. The approximately 7-kilometre extension is planned to improve public transportation capacity along the busy Broadway corridor, reduce travel times and provide faster, more reliable connections for students, university staff, residents, and commuters. The initial concept by Boundary Creek Construction identified potential stations serving the Macdonald Street, Alma Street, Jericho Lands, and UBC areas, although the final alignment and station locations remain subject to further planning and design. The project involves coordination among the Government of British Columbia, TransLink, the City of Vancouver, UBC, and several partners and vendors.
