Deep Foundations & Shoring Systems

Deep foundations carry structures that surface footings cannot, and shoring systems make deep excavation possible next to things that must not move. Both are governed by ground that is only ever partially known, which is why we treat verification as part of the work rather than a formality at the end of it.

We install driven steel and concrete piles, drilled shafts and caissons, helical and micropiles for restricted-access or low-headroom sites, and the full range of excavation support: secant and tangent pile walls, soldier pile and lagging, sheet piling, and tieback or internally braced systems.

Capacity is proven, not assumed — by dynamic and static load testing, integrity testing and installation records for every element. Where excavation approaches existing structures, instrumented monitoring with defined trigger levels runs throughout, so movement is detected as a trend rather than discovered as damage.

Driven piling: Steel H-pile, pipe pile and precast concrete driven to design bearing with full installation records.
Drilled shafts & caissons: Large-diameter shafts installed with temporary casing or slurry support as conditions require.
Micropiles & helical piles: Restricted-access, low-headroom and underpinning solutions for constrained and existing sites.
Excavation support: Secant and tangent pile walls, soldier pile and lagging, and sheet pile retention systems.
Anchors & bracing: Tiebacks, soil nails, rakers and internal bracing, proof-tested before the excavation relies on them.
Geotechnical interpretation: Foundation type and installation method are selected from the investigation and revised if the ground disagrees.
Load testing: Dynamic and static testing verifies capacity against design, with results issued to the engineer of record.
Integrity verification: Low-strain integrity and crosshole sonic logging on drilled elements where the specification calls for it.
Instrumented monitoring: Inclinometers, survey prisms and load cells with defined trigger levels and pre-agreed responses.
Vibration control: Monitoring near existing structures, with method changed to low-vibration installation where limits require.
Single accountability: Foundations and shoring from one contractor removes the interface where responsibility usually gets lost.
Constrained sites: Micropile and helical capability delivers where access, headroom or vibration limits rule out conventional piling.
Verified capacity: Testing and documentation prove the foundation performs as designed rather than asserting that it should.
